August 2007 Update

>I may have just completed my last flight here tonight, we flew back from a place called Balad after being weathered in last night. It was a short flight straight from there to here. I’ve got a picture from my flight the a couple nights before when I broke 1000 hrs. I printed out a little banner to take a picture after the flight. I got some pictures and video on the goggles, which hopefully I’ll be able to put into a movie with music. I think I’m a little better with movie making right now than I am with photo editing. I tried to put two pictures together to get Cpl Grimm in this one, he’s on the far right, and well, you can tell it’s two pictures. I guess I can go ahead and include both of them.

I’m not as good with Photoshop as most… definitely need practice. Anyway, Capt Andy Tyson is on my left helping me hold up the sign, and SSgt Dickerson on my right. It was sort of a long night, like 5 and a half hours, and all I needed was 45 minutes to break 1000. We were just on standby but got tasked to fly around… seems to always happen to me when I’m the section lead, but I don’t mind.

Anyway, like I said tonight might have been my last, I’ve got duty tomorrow, and then a maintenance day when we move out of our billeting to temporary spaces so the Army can move in. Then we just have two nights left to fly and I don’t see myself on the weekly. We will still be here till the 14th when we are suppose to go down to Kuwait, and then after a day or two we’ll be back in Okinawa. So this might be the last update I send from here.

Thanks for the last package to everyone who put stuff in there, it’s just about empty again. You mentioned you sent another one but since it’s after the 1st of Aug and I haven’t gotten it, I’ll probably see it back in Okinawa when we get back, but thanks for sending it. I’ll be on iChat just one more night, then the Army will have our “internet in the cans” system, but I should still be able to e-mail and maybe call. Catch ya later.

Peace,
Adam
